Camp Hendon Staff
Lori joined Camp Hendon in January of 2015 as our first paid employee. She has taken a tremendous amount of the load of running this organization from formerly the all-volunteer staff.
For the 25 years before she joined our team, she worked with The Endocrine and Diabetes Center with Drs. Fred Williams, Mary Self and Lara Fakunle, where her job title was “Give it to Lori, she’ll get it done.” This attitude and skill set has been invaluable to Camp Hendon.
Lori and her husband Tim live in Marysville, IN with their black lab Sammie. Their son Charlie is a Nursing Student at UofL and volunteer camp counselor.
CHRISTOPHER 'TOPHER" SMITH
Topher joined the Camp Hendon staff in February of 2023. Prior to joining our team as program manager, he volunteered for camp for 6 years as an adult counselor, den leader, and activity and song leader. He also coordinated the online content for Virtual Camp in 2020. Topher’s sister Kari is a long-time camper and volunteer, and got him involved with camp in 2017 as Camp Hendon’s resident DJ.
He previously worked as a residential youth counselor, and is a professional DJ, actor, and vocalist. Topher, or “Tofu” as he is known by all the campers, has been passionate about camp since he first volunteered in 2017, taking charge of several “all-camp” activities, and giving as much of his time as he could to Camp Hendon! He is absolutely thrilled to be able to work for camp full-time!
Topher lives in New Albany, Indiana with his dachshund Sinatra.
