Diabetes Awareness Month
“Starting today, you must make at least 180 more decisions than your peers do each day.”

This is what a child diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes faces. 180 more decisions each day; over 65,000 more decisions each year. Can you imagine? Those decisions range from “Do I need to eat less? Do I need to eat more?” to “ Did I count my carbohydrates correctly? Do I need to check my blood sugar?” and “How much insulin should I take?”

November is Diabetes Awareness month, and over these 30 days, our friends with T1D will make at least 5,400 more decisions than those of us without diabetes. During Diabetes Awareness Month, communities come together in support of over 1 million children living with T1D around the globe.  Camp Hendon joins fellow diabetes organizations to spotlight those superheroes - and super decision-makers - living with T1D.

This Diabetes Awareness Month, you can decide to be a part of Camp Hendon’s life-changing work. Our goal is to raise $100 for each of the 180 extra daily decisions a person with diabetes will make in November. Your decision to give a gift will help us reach this $18,000 challenge while also changing the lives of children managing T1D in the region.
