Camp Hendon Programs
Many organizations are dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, but few offer support in the interim. Camp Hendon provides life-altering experiences to children with diabetes, without the promise of a cure, but with the guarantee of an experience that makes diabetes manageable until that cure is found.
Camp Hendon is a community for children with diabetes, and their families, to get to know others who face the same challenges. The number one benefit of Camp Hendon's programs that both children and their parents express is the ability to feel part of a group and feelings of isolation are eliminated.
We offer numerous programs to support youth with diabetes at different ages and stages, as well as parents, other caregivers, and the family as a whole. Learn more about our different programs below.

Camp Hendon offers two, one-week sessions of summer camp for youth with T1D ages 8-17. At summer camp, children with diabetes are surrounded by people just like them – both children and adults — who share their day-to-day ordeals and triumphs managing their diabetes.
Family Camp is a weekend retreat-style program for youth with T1D ages 5-12 as well as siblings of any age, parents, and other caregivers. This is a fantastic opportunity for younger children and their families to meet the Camp Hendon team, and connect with other families facing the same challenges.
The Teen Camp is a weekend program for teens with T1D ages 13 -17. This is an extra fun weekend where we can give extra attention to the new and exciting things going on in a teenager's life, through the lens of diabetes.
In addition to our camp programs, Camp Hendon also offers fun family events throughout the year. From Parents' Night Out, to a free afternoon at the Trampoline Park, we are always seeking opportunities to bring our camp community together.
Our Parents' Educational Series is for any caregiver of a child with Type 1 Diabetes. Our monthly Zoom sessions cover different topics led by guest experts, with plenty of opportunity for caregivers to share their own advice as well as challenges. You do not have to attend a Camp Hendon program to attend a Parents' Educational Series session!
